How to draw... DONUTS! #imgoingtoeatyou

How to draw... DONUTS! by Isobel

1. Draw a fair sized circle ( at least 3-5 inches across). This will be the base for the donut.

2. Inside the circle, draw a little circle in the middle. This will be the donut hole of the donut. Be sure to shade in one side of the hole in a crescent moon style. This shows that the donut is three-dimensional.

3. Next you will be drawing the frosting. The frosting should be a circle whose edge is like a wave: it goes up and down. There should be less than 9/10 of the base of the donut showing.

4. Now we will be drawing the eyes of this cartoon donut. The rim of the eyes should be  the same size of the donut hole. Inside the rim draw another, littler circle. Draw a small oval, either in the right or left "corner" of the smaller circle and shade around this. This should leave the eyes looking like they are crescents.

5. Finally, draw a quarter circle below, either to the left of right, of the donut hole. This will be the mouth. If you want, you can now add sprinkles!

How to draw... TURTLES! #turtlethursday

How to draw Turtles by Anika

Today you are going to learn how to draw a really really cut cartoon turtle in 5 easy steps!

1) First, you want to start off with a smaller circle for the head of the turtle. If you have trouble drawing a symmetrical circle I recommend first starting off with a circular motion above your paper with your wrist, then lightly apply pressure to the pencil on the paper.

2) Next draw a more oval-like shape kind of overlapping the the head. The head should be a little bigger than the body giving the structure a "cuteness" factor.

3) Then, draw the four flippers in which all of them should be shown in your drawing.

4) Now, draw a curved line connecting the last flipper to the halfway point of the head so it looks like you can see the bottom and half of the shell. Then draw lines across the bottom so it looks flat. Now, you can draw any design on the on the on the top half of the shell.

5) Now add a curved triangle shape over the last flipper and draw a face. Usually, making the forehead large makes it look more cute. Now erase all unnecasary lines.

July 10th 2014

                      Farm Animals: #MoosdayOnTheFarm

Introduction

Farm animals are an important part of our society and provide us with many essential items, for example bacon, wool, and milk! It is about time that we all learn how to properly draw these animals that help us in so many ways. So read along and get out a paper and pencil so you can learn how to draw cows, sheep and pigs!

SHEEP!

To draw a sheep follow these steps:
1. Draw a small thinner oval on your paper (this will be the sheep's head)
2. Draw 2 even/parallel lines in the center of the oval and 2 small dots towards the bottom of the oval (these marks will be the eyes and nostrils/nose)
3. Draw an 2 "pinched rainbows" on the upper sides of the head, one in an upward direction, one in a downward direction (the ears)
4. Create a oval cloud like shape that connects to the head (this will be the puffy body)
5. Finish your sheep with 2 small "w"s at the bottom as the hoofs AND YOU ARE DONE!

Cows!

To draw a cow follow these steps:
1. Like the sheep draw an oval that is a bit fatter and small that will be the cow's head
2. Draw 2even/parallel lines in the center of the oval and 2 small dots towards the bottom of the oval (these marks will be the eyes and nostrils/nose)
3. Draw 2 "flame" shapes on each side of the head and little horns as well (the ears and horns)
4. Form a round edged rectangle as the body
5. Cows have little designs/spots so create fun shapes that are random around the cows whole body if you like and fill them in with a black marker, etc
6. Finish your cow with 2 "w"s as the feet and a little stick with hairs on the opposite end of the head as a tail AND YOU ARE DONE!

Pigs!

To draw a pig follow these steps:
1. Draw 2 small even circles next to each other (the nostrils/nose)
2. Draw a circle around those 2 circles enclosing them
3. Draw 2 medium sized circles next to each other (the eyes)
4. Draw another circle enclosing the last 2 circles (the head)
5. Draw 2 half circles on each upper side of the head as the ears
6. Draw an off centered circle that is much bigger (pretty big) as the whole body
7. Form 2 "w"s at the bottom of your pig as the hoofs and to finish it off an "e" shape of squiggle as the tail AND YOU ARE DONE!

To remember how to draw a pig you can sing the Pig Song or "Rene` Method"
(sing it)

"Little circle little circle, BIGGGGG circle, little circle little circle, BIGGGGG circle, half a circle half a circle BIGGGGG circle, "w", "w", "e"!"

ENJOY YOUR BARNYARD ANIMALS AND HAPPY DRAWING :D

How to draw... TACOS! #tacotuesday

All About Tacos
By: Harley

"Taco" in Spanish means "a light snack." A taco is a traditional Mexican dish composed of a corn or wheat tortilla folded or rolled around a filling. A taco can be made with a variety of fillings including beef, pork, chicken, seafood, vegetables, and cheese. A taco is generally eaten without utensils and is often accompanied by garnishes such as salsa, avocado, guacamole, cilantro, tomatoes, minced meat, onions, and lettuce.

How to draw... TACOS!

1- Draw a shape that looks like a rock with a line sticking out from the top and center, down to the bottom left corner.  This will be the outline for your shell.

2- Now sketch out the actual shape of the shell which is rounded at the edges, and you will then add a sketch of burger meat at the bottom left corner.

3- Sketch the meat in more detail and add the defining lines to add texture.  Next, draw some stick like shapes for the shredded cheese and then the jagged outline for the outer shell.

4- Flour tortilla shells have notches in them from the crushed corn and flour.  That is the type of pattern you will draw here to add texture to your taco.

5-Finish sketching out some more cheese and then add the shreds of lettuce.  The blob of sour cream goes on top, and then after you erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step on1, you taco is all done and ready to eat!  I mean... paste on your wall...
